I used to work under Hillel at Microsoft, and I can see now that he tried to practice some of what he preaches in this post when he ran my product.

Hillel - what I find interesting is that when you see a hidden cost like this in a large company, you often have difficulty convincing other people to see it. And when they do see it, the problem normally stays. I guess this is part of why Jackson Fish exists, right?</description>
