Release Date for Next Version of MovieOS Pushed Out
Just saw the third installment of the Bourne series. Aside from some nauseating camerawork early on, and some moments where the lead character walks away unhurt from crashes that invite disbelief even from an eager action movie audience, the movie was good.

What was lacking though was the user interfaces presented in the movie. Usually these are highly produced, pre-rendered sequences that while not exactly scalable or logical at least present some futuristic feeling user interface goodness (Minority Report comes to mind). The every magnifying map sequences in The Bourne Ultimatum were kind of humdrum compared to the way the camera moves in Google Earth. Clearly the designers working on movie UI need to update their skills and push some more boundaries.

They needed to hire Mark Coleran, the UI designer behind several films, like “The Island”. I would imagine that would be an interesting job, making an interface that looked as it came from years in the future, with little regard to testing for usability.
